Going to crew for Parts Group and try to get in on a PDX to see what the track looks like from a driver point of view.

You can lock in your PDX spot by registering online, I suppose - http://www.motorsportreg.com/index.c...FD4A31BF0C0D81

However, there's probably room to fit you in, even if you don't pre-register.

Never mind - I see you're registered already, John.

Golly, only 18 corner workers (including the flag chief) signed up for a dozen stations. I'm feeling guilty, but I'm too broke to rent a room to help at a Club Race, this month. Besides, Sue's already committed to helping with T&S for the SCCA Playboy Mazda MX-5 Cup at BMP.

Well the trip to RA this past weekend was a success except for a couple of slightly flat spotted tires and Georgia red clay wedged in the bead of a tire. I had signed up for the PDX on Sunday and drove my CSP prepared Miata on Bridgestones. That track is scary and even more so since I have gotten used to all the trappings of a real race car. I felt very exposed without my full roll cage, harnesses, firesuit and Hans. I told myself several times to calm down, I needed to be able to drive home. In the first session I spun going into turn three and now convinced I hit oil due to there being surface flags at the next 2 worker stations. A car doesn't spin away that fast just because of tires. There was no warning, no squeeling, it felt just like ice. If you get the chance to go to a PDX, do it. It's fun to drive the car fast but it makes you appreciate what the RoadRacers go through.
Dropping in on Twelve scared me silly.

I remembered your spin there, it added to the scared sillyness.
