And count me as another vote for the Race School at Roebling with buccaneer region. That's where I did race school as well as about everyone else who races SCCA in the southeast. Planet Miata and Panic Motorsports is usually there with rental cars. I'll probably be there that weekend racing with SVRA. They do a school that weekend as well and a Mazda Heritage Cup race (which is just Spec Miata).
Cheap car to run and repair is my thoughts. I'm a decent wrench but I'd rather drive than work and sometimes the money can outweigh the fun. I'm looking for the best bang for my buck.

    Thank you!

Oh, hey! If you have any questions about obtaining your NASA/SCCA license, feel free to bug me. I have my SCCA novice permit and I’m acquiring my NASA provisional license in February.

Doc, Brad, and Blake at Possien-Hall are excellent guys. They maintain my car and provide trackside support. They’ll get you started in the right direction and their endurance car is top-notch.

If you wanna come out and chat, I’ll be at Barber on a track day Jan 12th. Then I’ve got the 24 hours of Lemons Jan 31-Feb 2 with USMC Racing. I’m also going to the NASA event in late February at Memphis Intl’ Raceway.

I don’t visit this forum as often as I used to...add me on Facebook www.facebook.com/crashes.miatas

Been out for the holidays….Fantastic information and thanks for the invite. I'll do my best to make it by the track on the 12th. I heard good things about you from the Possein-Hall guys. See you soon...

In February, the Buccaneer Region SCCA should have a racing school at Roebling Road Raceway, near Savannah, GA, which you can enter either with your own race car or one you might be able to rent. I think it's a 2 or 3-day event, with classroom instruction, on-track activities, and a couple short races. Here's a page with contact info for that region - https://www.buccaneerregion.com/contact.html You should email them for more info. I'd try the Regional Executive or Registration, both listed on that page.

I'm definitely no expert on current license requirements, but these folks should be able to help, since they've been involved in running this driver's school for many years.

Edit: I just looked at the second link you posted of the proposed 2020 SEDiv Schedule. The schedule will be finalized at the division's annual meeting listed on Feb 1-2. The school I've mentioned is there, Feb 15-16. It's probably not listed on the MotorsportReg link because they want a more-personal approach to a novice school.

So you are mostly in the middle of the popular tracks in the SE...except Barber...18minutes.
I received this back from the Buccaneer Region....
          "Hi Shawn,
The Drivers School is listed on Motorsports Reg. now, however REGISTRATION for the event will not open for 15 more days. Have a look when you can.
When it opens, find the contact info for the Chief Steward, I believe it’s Bob Horansky, and ask him what you need to meet your license
requirements, if you can’t find his info, contact Wanda Cecil, the chief register for his information and event info.
I believe her contact info is listed on the site at the present.
          The event is Feb 14-15-16.
Hope this helps, if none of this works get back in touch with me.
          Fred Clark"

Don't quote on me on this but I think I found someplace on the net that said the school is less than $500 but you need your own car. Smoking deal if you have your car already.

I appreciate everyone's input and hopefully I've contributed some information for the future.
