Well, recruiting and paperwork has already begun on the combined Double SARRC/Double SECS/TT at Barber August 26-27, 2017 that both regions put on.
We had a successful 2016 event evenso I thought it would be a meh year. This year the Runoffs are at Indy so I hope to see some cars come out of the woodwork but the out-of-town event officials and drivers I talk to appreciate the way you treat them and the efficient manner we conduct the event.
I have been overwhelmed by lower speed open wheelers who want their own group, so for 2017 the door is opened for a sixth race group as long as they show up they will stay separate if not we go back to a wings and things set-up.
Purple event work t-shirts.........nope heading back to white or stone washed.
We will again have the TTA, TTB, TTC ...with C being passing on the straights only - however we will be watching the entry level for this as well since our schedule is very tight, we will have the ability to combine if the entries are low.
$$$$$ entry fee decrease........definite maybe.... I'll probably get in trouble but I don't see people wanting to take this job anyway.
So how can you help? When we get motorsportsreg going sign up! We still have 15 corner stations to fill as well as other jobs, if Porsche has the Friday before scheduled we will be needing people to help paddock as well as tech, register, and greet. We have upteen side jobs that always needs somebody to hand out something.
John Waight is the ALSCCA (right John?) co-event leader and I know how much he did to keep this event going. Basically moar people is better and both sides need to be looking at starting to supply Stewards - basically Atlanta Region supply the stewards for this event and the levels are down in that area, so the door is open to this area as well.
