  • THANK YOU ALSCCA! Barber 2015

In all the years of being around the races conducted at Barber this was a high water mark of excellence from the worker/support given by ALSCCA.
Corner workers, tech, traffic direction, grid, and on and on the comments from competitors and our visiting stewards on how well the event was run.
Youse guys, as well as TVR, owe a huge thank you to John Waight who did a ton of work well before the event and especially during the event. I don't see a lot of people taking time out of their racing schedule to take care of ice, water, basically a ton o stuff during the two days of the event.
I don't have a list of all the ALSCCA members but Rod has a great group of supporters of this event.

    Thanks Mark.

Waight did more the yeoman's work pulling off our side of the event and it really showed. I just wish he could have found time to drive as well. We (ALSCCA) need to work to make sure that, if he's a current driver, our Race Chair can participate at the event.

I really want to thank all the new guys who responded to our pleas at the autocrosses for the last few months. You guys showed up big time and were a huge reason the race went so well, even in the face of the weather challenges. I would start listing people but I'm sure I'd forget someone.

    GREAT JOB FOLKS!

FWIW, and I know some people have valid complaints, I think you all did a great job considering the weather. All the volunteers were pleasant, helpful, and I hope enjoyed our on track antics.

Thank you everyone who helped and enabled me to enjoy a fun weekend blocking all the fast cars like craig's. haha

We also owe Hans Mohnen a huge thanks. Besides being the starter, he negotiated with 5 Star Catering to bring their lunch price down significantly. If that was not enough, he bought the lunch drinks, the condiments, utensils, cookies and even made those cole slaw cups himself. Saved us a lot of money over 2014 despite us buying 20% more lunches.

I can not say enough about John Waight. He took over a lot of stuff. The trophy shirts were John's brilliant idea. Was so worried about the event that he did not drive in the SARRC which had to kill him because he had beat the guy who won his class a couple of times this year.
