Specifically looking for who in the area mounts/dismounts cantilevers for a reasonable price.

There are a number of guys in Huntsville who have Formula car type knowledge. Steve Conrad and I have both owned a FF. Mark has a FV. George Bugg is into F600. I have a P2.

Geoff Knight is knowledgeable down there.

Of the pay for play guys: Eric Van Cleef does about anything. Brett Whisenant does about everything.

What are you looking for? To have it done or learn how to do it yourself?

I do everything I can myself. Some things of course I am new to or don't have tools for, gear stacks in the hewland (new) or changing tires (tools) for example.

Still working on acquiring or fabricating some stuff up - like say a useable stringline system to hang off the car for alignments, a nice undercar quick jack, or some scale levelers.

Also just kinda seeing who is in the b-ham area with similar cars since I am new to this.

Was in Huntsville earlier today doing some work on their u23b.

Brandon Dixon in Tuscaloosa is a multi time runoffs winner in a Formula car. He's listed as a member of ALSCCA but we don't see him much. Casey Stallings has a F500 that he auto crosses from time to time.

I also purchased a FC2000 car last week. I also would like to talk with someone who knows
about these cars. My intent is to club race, begining this spring.

Congrats on your new car! What all did ya get? Are you anywhere near Irondale?

FWIW I am now mounting my own tires (courtesy of a no-mar that I mount on the back of my truck), rigged up a smart strings copy to hang off my car for alignments, and I bought a cheap set of proform scales. As it turned out my 'as raced' car had a bunch of toe out up front and the corner weights were way off. Wonder why my right front always locks up......maybe cause it only has 3/4 of the weight the left front is carrying? And boy are these cars twitchy... haha live and learn. Though I still have a lot to learn!

The No-Mar handles the cantilever rears no problem. Six more sets of tires or so and it has paid for itself.

I am in fayette county. Bought a 1995 van diemen from Greg Gyann in Illinois. Not had a lot of time to go through everything, but got a lot of spare parts. Would like to meet and compare notes. Just pm me and I'll get up with you if you like.

Well somehow i musta installed my pertronix wrong. Car would not rev past 5200 rpm where it'd cut out and then come back on at about 4900. Then battery in car died. Replaced battery but didn't cure my new rev limiter. Went back to points/condenser and car pulls again. Schedule had my group qualifying and racing before lunch so only got sunday race with car pulling past 5.2k. Still got totally dominated by the other FF's but at least i was able to pass the fv's. And got another weekend signed off in novice permit.

Congrats on the Roebling weekend. It sounds like a normal race weekend. Things break, things get fixed, and you have fun, regardless.

I always have to readjust corner weights and the camber/toe before every race. How did the car handle?

Handled much better and no longer had a front right wheel lock up issue either, imagine that huh? Now that I have the means corner weight and alignment is last thing on the list before heading out for a weekend.

I'm in Tuscaloosa. I've been a formula car guy for just over 20 years...

I'm doing a fair bit of design/manufacturing of Citation FF/FC/FB cars lately. I have recently finished my personal FC car and you are welcome to come to the house/shop anytime.
