I am so appreciative for you all who took the time to volunteer some of their Labor Day weekend to allow us drivers the opportunity to fulfill our dreams of being a racer, albeit a mid-pack to back-of-the-pack racer. Thank you for your support.

Our Barber Labor Day race and Track Trials for 2014 is over. TVR and Alabama Regions will say THANK YOU but we have also a certain joy and pride in seeing that the event is well executed and that the workers and drivers enjoy themselves. Sorry about the rain and lightening, but only losing an hour or so of the track day is not too bad considering.

To all the workers - A deep felt thank you. Without the volunteer workers who do Registration, Tech, Pit/Grid, T&S, Stewards, Safety, F&C, and all the background stuff that most do not see, there could not be these races. I know that the drivers certainly appreciate the opportunity to race. There were about 90 workers and a few more who were crew but helped out anyway. That is darn near a 1 to 1 ratio of worker to driver.

To the SARRC and SECS drivers - Many thanx for being here. Although a race cannot be held without the workers, we must also have the drivers. If the drivers do not want to come to an event, then there is no event. Drivers - tell your friends and those guys who decided not to come that they missed a good time.

About the Track Trials - SEDIV has a 35+ year history of putting on Track Trials and Hill Climbs (SOLO I for the older folks). Many drivers have used TT as their initial foray into racing. At Barber, we also use the TT as practice time for the racers since we cannot afford to rent the track on Friday. Frankly, it is the addition of the TT that keeps this event financially afloat.

As usual, we solicit your suggestions as to what went right, what went wrong, and what you might like to see in the future.
