Hmmm, that may be a regional dialect variation on American English. . . Think of the term "out to lunch."

In the part of the country I grew up in, to lunch something means to negligently cause a state of disrepair.

We ran the 6 hour enduro on saturday and had a pretty good time.. We were pretty much the slowest class in the field but we still had a great time.. We started 28 out of 28 cars and finished 17th over all.. We had a fuel pump go bad in the first hour but got it replaced and then with the exception of a fairly scary slide down the front straightaway towards the end had a great time..

no one important just a bunch of old farts but most of them can still turn a pretty good lap ...
