  • TGPR TT and PDX???

I am trying to judge interest in combining a PDX with the TGPR TT event in April.

Limited PDX entries (10-20). PDX'ers will get their own run group. Cost will be the same as the TT ($200-225)

Just to clarify, how many sessions would you expect the PDX folks to get each day/overall? If it's 3 or more, each day, I can't think of a much cheaper way to get some track time.

Craig tell me the PDX would have it's own run group so I would assume they would have as many sessions as the TTers. In other words more than enough.

In round numbers, a TT driver and A PDX driver could expect 200+ minutes of track time. # of sessions depends on whether we run 15 or 20 minute sessions. sunday afternoons, people tend to leave and a run group may get dropped, so more sessions for those who stay behind.

I'd be interested in the PDX.

If you offer 6 or more sessions for $200 or so over two days, I'll enter.

I doubt you'd have difficulty getting enough entries for a full group.

Is the TT school to get you TT license? If so there will be at least 2 of us that plan to attend. We need to get our red van a log book and an inspection I guess.

That's correct. A full TT license can be granted after successful completion of the school.

Why do I keep racing these weird cars?
Why can't I just get a miata and be happy?

Cool, when can we sign up? Who do I need to talk to about getting the van a log book and inspection?

The call for entries for the TT School will be out closer to the event, but in the mean time you can fill out a Time Trial Novice Application and Medical History portion and bring it to the school. Once you've successfully completed the school and get your license you will be able to run in the Level 4 hillclimb events, like Crow Mountain or Wolf Ridge.

Entry form, Supps and schedule, and Novice TT license application can be downloaded at http://www.scca.org/contentpage.aspx?content=45 and Safety requirements can be found in the Time Trials rulebook under Level 3 Track trials which can also be downloaded at the same place.

You will need a SA rated helmet, nomex firesuit with nomex undies and socks. nomex gloves and shoes that cover the entire foot. There is no racing with cutoffs and sandals. The car will need a roll bar (4 point min) and 5 point harnesses and a fire bottle. Read the safety requirements they may have changed.

There will be tech inspections available before the event but you have to keep an eye out for them. Last year they were held at Chuck Baaders house in Trussville and at a shop in Huntsville by Rich Crowell and Mark Rothermel and Craig Farr. Ricky Ragan may have his tech license now. Like I said you have to be vigilant and keep an eye out for the inspections. Last ditch resort is to have it done Friday night at the track, before the event. This one isn't recommended since if there are any problems, you have no time to fix it.

I'll be there, but I will be doing the TT school. So really that is no help with the PDX, but it lets you know my plan, in case anyone was wondering what I will be doing the 18th of April.

Thanks very much. This gives us time to start getting things ready.

We'll see how things go financially with me from here until then. I need to get some more track time in next year, since I had nil this year.

Of course it would be nice to get the 7 in TT form so that I could do the school...
