Chuck the pleasure was all mine. I enjoyed meeting you and working next to Suzette. Maybe now you know how I got my handle. The ride in the pace car was a real treat. It gives you a different perspective. I hope to help with T&S again soon.
There is usually a one lap penalty for passing under yellow. I was in the group 4 race Saturday in the rain I heard that myself and two others passed under yellow along with several others. The spray the first 8 laps made alot of the corner station impossible to see that sit back from the track. The staion on the entry to the kink on the back straight wasn't visable until you passed it and looked driver right at the same time. The pass I made under yellow was when we were lapping an IT7 that almost stopped and we could not safely stop behind him so the safest thing to do was pass. The GCR states that you may pass up to the corner stand with the yellow and no passing from that stand until you have passed the incident. I saw more than one corner worker wearing a yellow rain coat and some drivers were wondered why those stand had standing yellows. I think the stewards did a great job considering the visibility and lack of metal to metal incidents.

I think everyone did a fine job from my vantage point given the conditions but there again I was pretty far removed but we had more cars in the boneyard and the graveltraps on Sunday than on Saturday.
Thanks to all the drivers and corner workers all the way around is what I can say for the entire weekends event.

This was on Sunday. The group 5 leader dramatically slowed to not pass a lapped car but the guy in 2nd didn't. At the time the Ferrari was still in the fence at station 11 and station 10 had a standing yellow as well. As a result of that, the nice margin that the leader had was eliminated. I guess the paper work was put in the round file.

a standing yellow doesnt necessarily mean you MUST slow down but no passing in that zone for sure....who passed under yellow and what was the result ?You had a better seat than me .
It looked like the Ferarri was backed into the soft fence just past station 10 but just a touch before 11?...top of the hill on the backstraight in the kink .That should have put 10 standing and 11 no flag(unless they had somebody too??)Im asking cause I wasnt there in the station with you .
Im just trying to grasp exactly where geographically we are talking about.
