This Cool Shirt/Chill Factor is the first design “Club Racing Cool Shirt” by Shaffer Enterprises. The primary difference in today’s system and this system is the cooler. This cooler simply shuts semi tight and is either left as is or taped down. Today’s Club System has a cooler with latches and a gasket that prevents splashing and is a little larger. If you are so inclined latches and a gasket could be installed for less than $20.00 with the proper glue/rivets, latches. 3M Gasket Glue (gorilla snot) and a generic piece of rubber seal. We simply iced and watered the cooler and taped it shut. After all it is a race car.
Cool Shirt is XXL which gives L/XL/XXL room to move. I have not been a medium for a long time so I can not attest how it would fit. The shirt has no tears and is in great condition. It has some “red” staining at the color from my Drivers suit.
The cooler pump works fine. The cooler hose has no tears and is in great condition.
I used this suit one season before personal problems forced me to quit racing. I have used this suit in 100 plus degree heat at Roebling Road, Road Atlanta, Mid Ohio and Daytona (etc) with greenhouse temps being 140 degrees plus and had to turn it off because of the chill. If you are racing without a cool suit in “hot” weather a cool suit will increase your lap consistency and times through better concentration and less fatigue.
