"Five Stars (*****)! Bailey, our granddaughter, was in it from the beginning at 9am. She talked with and listened to the volunteers on the course from lesson one through lesson six. Her car control skills improved with each challenge. Her understanding of driving improved. The volunteer staff was important in this as they talked to her both on the course and near the check-in table as we returned to the line leading to the starting gate. The encouragement she received - hand-clapping and comments - when doing well will remain with her for years.
On the return south on I-65 we discussed "scan, search, and imagine." We then described real-time examples to each other as we drove.
Thank you to the Alabama Chapter Sports Car Club of America for offering such a valuable service to the younger drivers in the Birmingham area.

PS Keep the "surprise participation" at the conclusion of lesson six in the curriculum. Bailey was driving repeatedly at 45 mph when the red light was turned-on so it was imperative that I do the same. This was accomplished, along with using the ABS, on the second attempt. The comments from the course volunteers on the first attempt were definitely an inspiration. "
