Forum will no longer be utilized!

After facing many challenges with utilization of this forum for many years, the board voted on the evening of 1/12/2026 to stop use of the forum in favor of the modern, more effective means.

Most of our general club organization will now be coordinated via Discord and results from our events along with schedules and announcements will be hosted on our main alscca.net webpage.

What does this mean for the old forum? Well, in short we are going to stop using it. This has been reviewed several times in the past few years, and there has been a desire for some of more tenured members of the club to have the historic content preserved. In an effort to preserve this content, it was discovered that we could not simply export the content to be placed in a modern website. This forum will now become an archive only forum and will not be monitored. If you wish to preserve any of the content, this is your time to search the pages to find it. There is no promise that this content will remain available forever with the fragile nature of this forum.

Matt grew up in the SCCA, and started hosting these events a few years ago, probably first at TGPR. This should be a good day supporting a good cause.

Well I've been away since 2009 when I had a back injury and I am trying to get back into the sport. I'm going to come out and bring some toys, I'll look you up John.

It was nice to see an almost completely different group of cars on track other than the "usual suspects."

The novices and intermediates stuck around for the whole day, and looked to be having a great time. Even a good group of advanced drivers stuck around for the whole day, and were apparently rewarded with improving conditions through the late afternoon.

I had no grips and had to return the rented trailer before 4:00. Tip toeing through the corners was interesting but I bailed out after 2 sessions. I knew it was going to improve I just didn't want to wait for it. I hope they got lots of toys for the tots.

It did get a lot worse right after lunch, IIRC, so the eventual payoff was a long time coming. Also, I must admit to being fatigued by the "music" from the skid pad.

As I was headed home I drove through a pretty torrential downpour. I was glad I left when I did. After I got home from returning the trailer, it had cleared up in Hoover and the roads were drying. Oh well, next time.
