Hi there ALSCCA membership!!,
Its me again...your new regional executive Ricky Ragan.I am looking for some responses from the roadrace community, and the general membership alike, in lieu of our upcoming awards banquet.These awards listed below are rotating /perpetual trophys that are awarded annually and the recipients names are engraved on plates on these awards which mark their names in ALSCCA history.Some of these awards date back to the 1960s...shortly before I was born LOL.Please take a moment to review each trophys description and award/nominating criteria and nominate someone who in your best judgement meets the criteria of these awards.Please send all nominations /correspondence via nismoautoxr@hotmail.com

I digress.Come on folks .Gimme some feedback.
* MECHANIC of the Year - A rotating trophy, this plaque featuring a
12-cylinder Jaguar distributor cap is presented to the member who
demonstrated an exceptional mechanical talent this year. Recipients of this
award are nominated and voted on by the general membership.
* ROOKIE of the Year - Donated by Bob Norwood of Norwood Racing in
Montgomery, this plaque is presented to the member who excelled the most in
their first year of competition. Recipients of this award are nominated and
voted on by the general membership.
* REGIONAL DRIVER of the Year - Presented to the Regional race driver who
excelled in Regional competition this year. Recipients of this award are
nominated and voted on by the Road Race workers and drivers.
* Time Trials Driver of the Year - Presented to the TT driver who excelled
in TT competition this year. Recipients of this award are nominated and
voted on by the TT workers and drivers.
* NATIONAL DRIVER of the Year - Presented to the National driver who
excelled in National competition this year. Recipients of this award are
nominated and voted on by the Road Race workers and drivers.
* HARD LUCK Trophy - One very ugly but endearing trophy. This trophy
contains a broken piston, burned valves, and upside down car, a pair of
broken glasses and a pair of snake eyes dice! A lot of familiar names can
be found on this rotating trophy which signifies the "tough love" side of
racing. Recipients of this award are nominated and voted on by the general
membership.
SOLO DRIVER of the Year - This trophy is presented to the Solo driver
showing improved driving ability, spirit and sportsmanship throughout the
season. Recipients of this trophy are nominated and voted on at the final
Solo event of the season.
RACE WORKER of the Year - Recipients of this trophy are nominated and voted
on by the Race Board and presented to the member who, in their judgment,
made the most significant contribution to Road Racing during the year.
SOLO WORKER of the Year - Recipients of this trophy are nominated and voted
on by Solo Board and presented to the member who, in their judgment, made
the most significant contribution to the Solo program during the year.
MOST ACTIVE MEMBER - This award is presented to the person determined by the
BoD to have been the most active member this year. Recipients of this awardare nominated and voted on by the Board of Directors.
KEN LINDQUIST AWARD - This is a rotating trophy devised back in the '70's in
honor of Everette "Doc" Bishop who had been and active Race Steward in SEDIV
for years. In 1999 the award was renamed for Ken Lindquist. The recipient
of this award is selected by the BoD as the member who contributed the most
to the sport during the year.
